The Body Corporate requires that every resident (Owners and Tenants) and their domestic workers participate in the recycling process in the estate.

There are only two sections to each refuse area –
•  Wet waste (Food scraps, dirty paper containers, non-recyclables, etc.)
•  Materials that can be recycled as listed below (glass and plastic bottles – plastic or paper containers – cardboard – newspapers etc.)

All Wet Waste must be put in plastic refuse bags that can be sealed/tied by you before you place them in the black wheelie bins. Loose wet waste may not be dumped in the bins, and no open boxes or plastic shopping bags are allowed.

All Recycling must be placed in the recycle section (squashed boxes at the back)

Any resident not separating their waste, or placing waste in the wrong area or wrong bin, or on the floor or overfilling the bin, or causing the waste areas to be unhygienic or irresponsible dumping of bags, will be subject to a first warning and subsequently to a substantial fine.

Residents are required to explain the waste and recycling processes to their domestic worker. Any domestic worker not adhering to this policy will immediately be prevented from working in the estate and have their access card withdrawn.

ITS EASY TO RECYCLE at Lonehill Village Estate 
1. Recycle items that have the recycling arrows on the label / container.
2. Separate your waste into two bags – 1. All recyclable items. 2. All wet waste and food scraps then place items in the bins provided.
3. Light bulbs and batteries (excluding vehicle batteries) can be taken to recycling points in Pick ‘n Pay’s.
4. Medicine must be taken to a pharmacy for proper disposal.
5. Wood can be placed in the garden skip.
